The Archery Committee hopes to put together a work day in the spring before the 3D shoot season starts look for further announcements. Firearms Range Committee Hope everyone is having a good Deer Season, No guest in November went over well, some people were asked to leave but 90% were understanding. The block shoot in Nov saw 25 shooters buy 60 shots for $900 in prizes, we would have liked to see a better turn out from our almost 2000 members next one is March 24th Easter Shoot. Please ask to see others cards when using the ranges, be safe, all firearms should be unloaded with action/slide locked back when going down range, put out Rifle Range Flags when going down range-remember to take them down when back, Steel cases go in trash, clean up after yourself including taking all targets down.

From October Membership Meeting and results of officers elections. Results of the election are as follows President-Mike Sokolowski, Vice President- Bill Rittase, Treasurer- Tom Staub, Recording Secretary- Jim Smith, Financial Secretary- Rick Clingan, Field Captain- Corey Gajewski, Trustee- Dennis Greenholt. Thanks to all who ran, several members who ran unopposed said they would like this to be their last year, if anyone is interested in a more active roll, both the recording and financial secretary would like to have people shadow them and learn the ropes so they can take over in 2025. President Mike Sokolowski echoed a statement from several committee chairs and officers at the meeting about membership help and involvement at events.  We need a more active participation from our membership, if we can not get that some events and activities may go away-and as many know once something goes away it rarely comes back.  No membership meeting in November- Good luck hunters, Next meeting is December 12th. We have the Thanksgiving Block Shoot November 19th, Registration at 11AM, Shooting starts at Noon, $20 gets you a shot in each of 6 rounds to win gift cards for local grocery stores.  All you need is a 12ga Shotgun, shells are provided, open to the public, more info is available in our events section on our Facebook page. Pond Committee, Pond is stocked, limit is 3 daily, we had a good kids only fishing day Sunday, lots of big fish caught, thanks for those that helped for the kids event, more help for stocking would have been nice. Big Buck Contest Tickets are still available for the Rifle and Car Division-they will close first day of Rifle Season, $15 gets you a  chance in the contest, a meal, a T-shirt and a door prize.  Sponsorship is still available for $100-gets you recognition on our website and Facebook page as well as printed on the T-shirt see Ed Jacoby or message the club if interested. Fish Committee Due to a power outage the nursery lost 1900 fish, the generator failed to start, due to Dave Swopes work the fish will be replaced. Range Committee- No one showed for the rescheduled .22 shoot hopefully we will have better attendance next year.  No Guest in November over 16 years old, the 2 weeks of Deer Firearm Season the Firearm Ranges will be closed with no access. Reminder we are in the full swing of hunting season for various species, please use caution when in or around the woods, wearing orange is always advised.  During this busy time of year please limit your usage to one bench or matt, depending on location so other members don't have to ask you to move. Please use common sense and keep safe, never walk in front of a loaded firearm, work with other members when going down range. 2024 dues are payable now, at the December membership meeting or the Pig feed, info on mailing in your dues was in the newsletter, which is also available in a pinned post on our Facebook page.

It is with a heavy heart we are sharing that Lawrence "Gump" Bolin passed away at home on Monday, February 28 2022 at age 99. A truly great member, who supported our club since the beginning, and a founding member of Goofy's of McSherrystown. A World War II vet who received 5 Bronze stars he could often be found at club events and in the members only room telling stories. A self taught artist he painted many of the scenes and art around our club, and donated his art to hundreds of our events to help raise funds for the club, including bringing one in January this year, he supported us to the end. He provided much of the art work for the annual T-Shirts of the Big Buck contest which were so loved by many members. A local legend and irreplaceable as a human being his loss will be felt by all who knew him. Words can not tell how much he meant to our club and his love is shown even after his passing asking for donations to the club in lieu of flowers.

Its is again with a heavy heart we are sharing the passing of a long time member and continual presence at our club. Richard A. Welty often referred to as Dick or Dickie passed on April 10 2022. A regular fixture in the kitchen at the sink washing dishes and lending a hand, he would often say he has to earn his beans. Anyone who knew him, knew he had to be at church for 4 o'clock mass every Saturday, and if you started at 6AM he started at 5:30AM, never late, always early and don't forget the salt and pepper. He took care of so may little details for so many events over the years, he truly will be missed. Always had a comment, and quick to give it back to you, did you know he trimmed trees with Willie Nelson, a great man who lived an exceptional life of hard work, lending a hand, and giving. He may not have been in the forefront of pictures but he was almost always there at an event. Rest in Peace you certainly earned your beans Dickie.

With Sadness we announce the passing of Robert Flickinger know as Bob or Flick. A long time member from the 50's, former trustee, and Lifetime member, he was a very active member in the club, even at a membership meeting a few days before his passing. A staple in the members only room in the morning, club coffee pot hunter and my yard sale buddy may he rest in peace.
Robert B. Flickinger, 84, of Abbottstown, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2023 at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Georgianna (Therit) Flickinger; together they shared 33 years of marriage before her passing in 2000.

Edward Fuhrman, we will remember you December 7, 2010
